SCOTTSDALE, AZ, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - On4(TM) Communications Inc. (ONCI.OB) has entered into discussions with manufacturers of GSM based tracking devices.
Though On4(TM)'s patents pending are for CDMA based GPS devices, President and CEO, Cameron Robb acknowledges the company is currently in discussions with manufacturers and providers of GSM tracking devices, Robb said, "Discussions with providers of GSM devices does not signal an abandonment by On4(TM) of their dedication to GPS tracking devices which work on a CDMA platform, rather it is more of a reflection of the potential global opportunity which the GSM platform provides."
A CDMA and GSM product offering will allow On4(TM) the opportunity to provide consumer and partner solutions both domestically in North America as well as in Europe and Asia, where GSM carriers have a significant market share. GSM is very widely used in the mobile market and it is estimated that GSM provides 82% of the global mobile market with over 2 billion users in more than 212 countries worldwide.
